Public transport - train
Ticket: You can use an OV-chipkaart; this can be personalized or anonymous. The anonymous OV-chipkaart can be obtained at a sales point at the station or at various kiosks. The anonymous OV-chipkaart must be topped up with a minimum of 20 euros credit to be able to travel.
You can use the anonymous OV-chipkaart more than once. You can also purchase it at an NS ticket machine or NS service desk. You pay a one-time fee of €7.50 and this card is also valid for the bus, tram, metro, and ferry. Before you travel, you need to top up the OV-chipkaart at an NS ticket machine. You also need to check in and out at the OV-chipkaart poles at the station. At NS ticket machines, you can only pay with a debit card.
Nowadays, you can also check in and out with your debit card, credit card, or smartphone. After you have checked out at your destination, the amount for your journey will be deducted from your account.
At every station, you will find yellow signs where you can read from early morning until late at night where and at what time your train departs. Above the platforms, you will also find departure boards. These display the time of the next train and its destination. If there are any changes to the schedule, they will be announced and the departure board on the platform will be updated. Therefore, always keep an eye on the departure board!
Public transport - bus
Right in front of Van der Valk Hotel Eindhoven you will find a bus stop: P+R Genneper Parken. Bus lines 7, 317, and 318 will take you to Eindhoven Central Station or the city center of Eindhoven within 10 minutes. For the current bus schedule, it is best to check on the www.9292.nl website. The train schedules are best viewed on the www.ns.nl website.
If you do not have an OV-chipkaart, it is only possible to buy a ticket on the bus by using a debit card.
